Perfect Chemistry is about two different lives in two different social classes that fall in love. But it isn’t an easy love, with Alex in the Latino bloods and Brittany in a white rich cheerleader status they don’t mix. They meet by force of love or just another teacher assigning seats in chemistry. The best part about this book is that it has a twist to the characters. Other than just another love story with boring people in love. Alex actually wants to change and go to college, and Brittany hates her perfect life. Its a great book and anyone can read it.

This book is about Kyle McAvoy, a recent Yale Law School grad. that gets blackmailed for something he may have done at a fraternity party.
Kyle is afraid of losing everything he has worked so hard for, and disappointing his father, a small town lawyer. So, he reluctantly agrees to spy on his new employer Scully & Pershing, the largest law firm in New York.
Kyle secretly meets with the blackmailer, Bennie while staying one step ahead of him, trying to figure out how to end this charade without ruining his or his fraternity brothers reputations and promising futures. After all…it was his fraternity brothers that actually committed the crime.
I really enjoyed reading this book figuring that it would all tie together in the end, but was greatly disappointed.

Thom Creed is not your usual teenager. He’s a good basketball player, except for the “seizures” that start to show up when he’s stressed out. His dad is a disgraced superhero who works a factory job. Then there are the guys who are jealous of his athletic ability and his dad’s refusal to talk about his mom and why she left. Add to that the issue of being gay in a homophobic world… Life is rough. How can Thom reconcile his emerging superpowers with being his Dad’s son? Can he ever be accepted for who he is or does he have to keep lying to everyone? When Thom outs himself to save someone from jail, his whole life comes crashing down. His superhero teammates turn their backs on him, his dad leaves. How’s a guy supposed to save the world all by himself?

Paul’s dad just got a new job as Deputy Director of Civil Engineering. So the Fisher family moves to Tangerine, Florida, now they live in a new house. Paul is going to be going to Lake Windsor Middle/high School. Paul is handicapped, but he doesn’t like to be called that. Paul has to wear these thick because years ago he supposedly looked at an eclipse too long. After a while Paul suspects that there is a connection between the thick glasses and the eclipse story and his brother. Now Paul is trying to figure out what really happen to him by questioning his parents and others. Even though Paul is blind, Paul plays soccer. He’s trying out for the school team. But because his IEP says that he is blind, he cannot play. The school doesn’t allow it because of there insurance. Paul’s brother Erik is a football legend. He is an amazing kicker. His dad hopes he gets a scholarship for football.
I think this book was not that good. It didn’t really have much going on in the book. It was kinda boring. I wouldn’t read this again. But if you like soccer you would like this book.

In “Soldier Boy” follows a Double story of an American Soldier Spencer “Spence” Morgan and a Nazi soldier Dietrich “Dieter” Hedrick. Both of them join World War 2 for the wrong reasons. Spence enlists to prove to everyone were he comes from in Brigham City, Utah. Dieter joins because as a young boy he was brainwashed by the HJ or Hitler Youth that Hitler was doing the right thing for the world. When Dieter and Spence get their first real taste of the war they find themselves in The Battle of the Bulge fighting each other. In the first part of the battle the Americans go on the offensive and charge at the German forces but have to retreat. During the retreat Spence’s friend Ted Darney is shot and killed. Then when the Germans attack and try to retreat Dieter is wounded and his partner Johann Schaefer is killed.
One aspect I really liked about this book is how you get a view of both sides of the World War 2, because you get to see why both characters join the war. I really liked how Dean Hughes is very detailed when a person in the book is shot or killed. For example when Spence goes into a house were a German MG is firing at his company, and another soldier Erickson runs up the stairs, and is almost torn in half by the bullets from an automatic rifle. I would highly recommend this book to any one who like historical fiction or a great war story.

This book is about a two people. One is Katherine, she is a high school senior and the other one is Michael, also a high school senior. They meet at a New Years Eve party during their senior year. They quickly fall head over heels for one another. Her parents soon start to get worried that they are spending too much time together because usually they hang out whenever they can. At the end of there senior year they have to make some changes because college is calling, so its up to you to read the book and figure out what happens.
I really enjoyed reading this book. the characters in this book seemed real with their problems and family. It was an easy read. It was written in the 70s so the language is a little dated. i really recommend this book to whoever likes love stories.

I will Plant You a Lilac Tree is a true story about a normal teenage girl who was thrown out of her house, along with her family because they were Jewish. It was taken place around the 1940’s when the Holocaust was occurring. She was selfish and greedy at first bur then realized reality. During her struggles, she met a boy named Dick Hillman. They became best friends and soon lovers. Together, they went through all of the tough times and different concentration camps together. But there was a block in her small happiness. Hannelore haven’t heard from her family in years. If you want to know what happens to her family and Dick you will have to read the book.
One aspect of this book that I liked was how realistic it was. It explained the Holocaust in deep detailing and showed me more about what really happened during the Holocaust. Most books I read gave me detailing that I already knew. And from reading this book from a person who really went through the concentration camps I learned so much more about the Holocaust. I rate this book a 9 out of 10 because of the details and the love story involved in this sad story.

In the book Handbook for Boys Jimmy who is the main character has to go work for an old man at his barbershop. He didn’t do this voluntarily; he got in trouble for assaulting another person. The courts originally were sentencing him to a Juvenile Detention Center but the owner of that barbershop Duke stepped in and convinced the courts to instead of sending Jimmy there to let him work for him at his barbershop. Throughout the whole book Duke shares all his wisdom and know how’s about life and the world to help Jimmy work his way through life. Duke really truly cares for Jimmy and treats him like a son of his own.
One specific aspect of the book I really like was the overwhelming wealth of knowledge that is shared with the reader. Duke is such a wise and smart old man. He is educated as well. For every single different person that went into the barbershop he evaluated the decisions the people have made and help lead Jimmy in the right direction. He can evaluate the people’s decisions because he has known them for so long that they share so many stories with him. He also was just a very caring person that Jimmy and Kevin knew they could talk to anytime they wanted and about anything. He will give them the honest truth about the matter and help them work through their problems because that was the kind of person duke was. If I was grading this book I would definitely give it a 9 out of 10 for all the values it teaches and the overall wealth of knowledge it has.
