Dairy Queen by Catherine Murdock

Review by Mrs. Dettling
“Romeo and Juliet” meet down on the farm in rural Wisconsin with far less tragedy and a little more comedy. D.J Schwenk is not your typical high school girl. Tall, muscular, and with very little to say, D.J. spends all her free time working on the family dairy farm in Red Bend Wisconsin. The younger sister of two high school football legends, and a gifted athlete in her own right, D.J. is approached by the football coach of a rival high school, to train his lazy starting quarterback, Brian Nelson. D.J. reluctantly agrees and unintentionally falls for Brian and trains herself as well. Much to everyone’s surprise, D.J. decides to try out for her high school football team and continue the the Schwenck family football tradition.
If you like Dairy Queen read the sequel The Off Season.
