The book, Maximum Ride, is about six mutants who call themselves Iggy, Gasman, Nudge, Fang, Angel and Max. In the beginning, they all live in dog crates at a place called the School. The School is a laboratory that focuses on mainly genetics. When one of the scientists, named Jeb, doesn’t like the way the mutants are being treated he breaks them out of the School and takes them to a place in the mountains. Jeb teaches them how to fight and protect themselves. Just when everything seems fine, Jeb disappears. Two years later the mutants go outside to have a little fun when erasers attack them. Erasers are wolf like mutants made to kill and the School creates them. The erasers catch one of the mutants, Angel, and take her back to the School. Max, the mutant leader, decides that he and the others are going to rescue her. The next day, when they get there, the other mutants end up getting captured also.

The last battle between Max and the super eraser is one of the best parts. It is good because Max is so angry she focuses all of her anger on winning. Everything Jeb taught her about fighting dirty she uses. The battle goes back and fourth many times. Just when you think someone had won, it switches. It also has some of the best detail in the book.
