The book Hello America is the last book in Livias Holocaust series. In this book Ellie has escaped from the scary world of the Holocaust and on to the land of the free, America. Ellie has been through a lot in the time spent that she wrote this book. Ellie was one of the few children that survived the Holocaust. Her time in Auschwitz was horrifying. Finally she is on her way to her family and her brother Bubi who is her 16 year old brother who also survived the Holocaust. In this book Ellie is adjusting to America. She is trying new American foods, traditions, holidays, culture, and the language. She applies for a couple of jobs to get her used to her surroundings. She grows tremendously throughout the book with great confidence that she will do well.

I thought this book was a great ending to her two previous novels. Reading the first book ” I Have Lived a Thousand Years” makes you realize how horrifying and terrible this event in history really was, especially from a child’s point of view. When you read her books you feel as if you are in her shoes actually experiencing these things. When I was reading i could visualize whatever was on the page in my mind. This book is defiantly a good read.
