In the novel “Beastly” by Alex Flinn, the main characters are Kyle Kingsbury aka Adrian who is a round character because at the beginning of the novel he was a self-centered, arrogant, jerk that only cared about his looks and made fun of others if they were not “perfect”. But thoughtout the novel this life changes ultimately in one night and he leans that looks aren’t mostly important, that if you have personality and are nice people will see pass it and really see the beauty within you; that’s what really matters. The other main character is Lindy Owens who really is flat because she really doesn’t change because all ready she good at heart and can see past the looks.
The main conflict in the novel is that Kyle Kingsbury is morphed into a creature-like a wookie in star wars by a witch named Kendra and the only way to beak the spell is for Kyle to kiss a girl who he loves and she loves him9only true love can break the spell). The conflict is solved when when Lindy is in trouble and Adrian (changed his name when he become creature) who sees her though magic mirror goes to save her but ends up getting shot. Lindy kisses him as his last wish and he transforms but to human-Kyle is back. She and him finally end up together after all that and he and her live happily ever after.
The purpose of this book is that beautiful things in the world aren’t always “perfect”, sometimes some things like a white rose is beautiful. Those who do not know to see precious things in life will never be happy. This book is like Beauty and the Beast!!
One aspect that caught my attention is that in the book even though Kyle is “ugly” a girl can still fall for him because in this century i haven’t seem that happen yet but I’m hoping that it will one of this day.I seriously think that people should care about the inside not the outside-keep hoping for this to happen.
