Wise Period 2

Imagine, being stuck in a small town super market with 35 people and enough food to last a year; but your life could be brutally cut short by ungodly Destruction. Well that’s David and his son Billy situation. David is thinking of a way to escape or survive; through this horrific disaster. But as things get worse in the mist engulfed store; and people are resorting to human sacrifice for any chance a survival. David and his friend Ollie try to think of a way to escape with the very few sane or alive people left. But is is this plan going to work, maybe, or maybe not.

This is probably the most suspenseful story I have every read in my life. Because with an author like Stephen King things don’t always work out for the best. Also this book was very well written with good language and punctuation. It was so descriptive it made you want to read the book wht the lights on. Or make you not want to look up in fear that there might be something in the corner of your eye; stalking you and waiting to ponce when you least expect it.

I think that reason that Eclipse is such a big hit and a bestseller is the mix of romance, action, fantasy, and mystery that Stephenine Meyer some how manages to mix and put together all in one book, as well as the book series it’s self. At first glance Eclipse seems like another girly teenager romance book. But it’s this mix of action and romance put together and makes Eclipse such a big. It’s that feelings that there is so much going on in the plot that you just have to keep reading to see what happens in the end, or to find out if your predictions that you made before you started reading actually came true. Stephenine Meyer has brought a completely new outlook on how the world today describes vampires, werewolf, and a romance book it’s self.

The book I chose to read is called The Jester by James Patterson. It is about a man named Hugh De Luc who lives in a small town called Veille du Père with is wife Sophie. He then heads off on a “Crusade” fighting for Christianity, though he did not believe in it. He was doing it so he and his wife could be free. When he came back, to his horror, he found out that attackers had raided his town looking for a priceless relic and killed his son that had been born while he was gone. They had also kidnapped his wife. Hugh now embarks on a journey to find his wife and get revenge on those who had done what they’d done to his friends and family.

My favorite part in the book, or the part that really got me up and reading, was the part where Hugh follows the path that the attackers took to find his dear Sophie. Along the way, he fights this boar that attacks him as he was laying to rest. In the end, he kills the boar and lies on the side of the road, waiting for God to take him. To his luck, a beautiful woman named Emilie, from the beautiful city called Boreè, and some of her riders, picked him up and brought him to their city to heal him. When Hugh woke up lying in a bed, he finally got his chance to meet Emilie, his savior. After they became close in a couple days, he told her what he was doing. She decided to help him, or give him a pretext. She took him to Boreè’s jester, Norbert. At first, Norbert didn’t see anything of Hugh. But after Hugh had shown Norbert one incredible trick, Norbert decided to train him. Hugh was ready after two weeks. He now wore a jester suit that was sewn by Emilie, and he heads to a city where his liege stays: Treille. His plan is to become the jester of Treille and sneak into the dungeon and look for Sophie. Little does he know, he’s about to encounter a lot more than he expects. And So will you.

Brown- Period 5

Twilight is about a girl named Isabella Swan who goes to live with her dad in the town of Forks in Washington. While she is there, she attends a new high school and observes a peculiar family; the Cullens. Everything about this family is beautiful and she takes an interest in the single boy of the Cullen family named Edward. As she gets to know and observe Edward, she comes to the conclusion that he is not someone but something. Later she finds out that he is a bloodsucking, animal eating, but absolutely breathtaking vampire. She is then sucked into the world of vampires and falls head over heels in love with Edward Cullen.

Bella Swan adores everything about Edward. His touch, his breath, and his scent causes her to feel weak at the knees. Not only does Bella love Edward, but Edward seems to have the same feelings towards her. Bella is a delicate human while Edward is unbelievably strong. This story captures the true essence of forbidden love and allows two different worlds to collide. Bella learns everything she can about Edward and his family. She becomes close with the immortal world and learns that it’s not all fun and games. Even though she sometimes fails to see the dangers of her vampire friends, she vows to stay together with Edward despite his attitude toward protecting her from his powerful abilities. They both refuse to part and manage their many differences, because both Bella and Edward know they are meant to be together, forever!

“Mrs. Brown – Period 8″

Tom Harris’s novel, The Silence of the Lambs, explores the dark world of sociopaths and murderers. When the senator’s daughter is kidnapped, Clarice Starling, federal agent in-training, is put on the case. Time is ticking as the kidnapper gets ready to harvest his new hide. Desperate to save the girl and make her career, Clarice finds herself needing help from the ultimate expert on the subject, a monster who had killed and devoured six victims. He was Hannibal Lector…

One of the many fine points in this book is its meticulous attention to detail. It goes deep into the horrors and spares us nothing. The explanations and depictions are not for the faint of heart, but manage to create a spectacular journey. All throughout the book, incredible wit and intelligence is displayed. Every word on every page is purposeful, and adds to the intricate and multilayered plots. Even more complicated, are the characters themselves. Harris displays real people in real situations. Embellished by extraordinary circumstances and beautifully terrifying schemes, this book truly is a masterpiece.

Twilight is an enchanting novel written by Stephanie Meyer. The main character and narrorator, Belle Swan, is a 17-year-old from Arizona who lives with her mom and step dad. But when her parents decide to go on the road to follow her step dad’s baseball career, Bella begrudgingly offers to go to the small town of Forks, Washington, the rainiest place in the USA, to live with her father. Not only does Bella miss the sun of her old home, she misses being one of many. Moving to this small town is hard for her, because not only does everyone know who she is before she gets there, but everyone seems to be the same. They’re all very nice, perfectly friendly but so generic and boring. Bella was one to want substance, and depth, and it was major lacking, until she met Edward Cullen. Something was off about him, something different and mysterious. As she gets to know hi more and more, she eventually finds out that he’s a vampire. Though he loves her more than any being has ever loved anyone before, he thirsts for the blood in her veins more then anything he’s ever smelled before. The main conflict of the book is Bella and Edward fighting against the odds, vampire clans, disapproval, and most of all, Edward’s thirst, for their precious love.

This book so particularly appealing, especially to teenage girls, in many ways. First, the writing style is such that each glance, each breath is detailed and explained in a way that attaches you to the characters before they even speak their first words. You don’t miss any detail, so the story and its characters are engraved in your mind. Second, the main characters in this book have more depth to them then just what their particular main conflict is. Their feelings on the surface that are oh so specifically described are only the beginning. They all have such intense passion for whomever they love or hate that you adopt these feelings with them. Granted, this story is much more of a romance then it is anything else, so it may be a repellant to males. But to whoever is interested in this, dive right in, it is very tastefully written and you will want to adopt this series as if you had written it yourself.

Brown Period 5

Bella Swan was considered to be an “ugly girl” in Phoenix, Arizona; however, she never tries to fit in with the society in terms of fashion, or trends. Bella moves out from bright and sunny Phoenix to live with her Dad, Charlie in Forks, Washington which is very gloomy and rainy that makes her mood very depressed. As Bella goes to the school, as a contrast to the old life in Arizona, she draws lots of attention among the students, and there was the most handsome of all guys, Edward Cullen; without a doubt, Bella is attracted by the physical appearance of the most graceful and dazzling statue in the world: Edward Cullen
On the first day of the school, Bella is seated next to Edward in the Biology class. As Bella is still attracted by Edward, he seems quite disturbed and repulsed by the presence of her; however, Bella and Edward become friends overcoming lots of difficulties, even to the point where Edward almost revealed his “true identity” by protecting Bella from a car crash. One day Jacob Black, Bella’s old family friend, gets into talking about vampires with Bella, and explains that the Cullen family is the family of vampires who drinks the blood of animals instead of hunting people. Then Bella talks to Edward about her “theories” what Edward possibly could be- a vampire. Edward seems natural with this fact, and it seems like Bella is accepting it as truth as well. As they get close and close, Edward is more attracted to the scent of the fresh blood of Bella, and constantly tries to fight against his repulsive nature of a vampire.
Their relationship enters into chaos when another vampire group enters the village of Forks. James, having an amazing sense of smell and being a tracker of the group, decides to hunt her for a game, almost as an amusement. As the Cullen family notices about the plan, they try to split Edward and Bella to distract James from tracking down, thus Bella ends up staying in a hotel in Phoenix. James’ track being as sharp as a razor, he tracks down Bella and threatens her in which that he has Renee as a hostage and he’d kill her unless Bella sacrifice herself to save her, and she does so to save her mom. As James attacks Bella and in the verge of killing her, Edward and his family rescues her and amazingly saves her, but she was already bitten by James. Before the venom gets into her system and changes her into a vampire, something had to be done. Then Edward steps up and sucks out all the venom in her system to save her. Returning to Forks, Bella and Edward attend the prom, and Bella reveals to Edward, her genuine desire from the bottom of her heart- becoming a vampire.

The Shining by Stephen King is an intense thriller that will have you wanting more. It takes place at a hotel called the Over Look in Colorado.

During the winter the Over Look is completely cut off from the rest of the world because of the heavy snow fall that blocks the roads that lead to it. But such a large and expensive hotel needs to be kept clean and safe, so the owners higher a family to watch over the place all winter long. A family of three take the job without knowing what had happened there over the years, but The child of the family starts to become concerned when he starts to have horrible visions warning him that “this inhuman place makes human monsters”.

Lockowitz – Period 7

It all started out when Darren and a couple of his friends found a Cirque Du Freak flyer. On that flyer was written down that this was a dangerous show. This got them all interested about this show, and started to save up money for the tickets. Darren’s best friend Steve, buys the tickets for Darren and his friends, but when he comes back, he only holds two tickets. He had two tickets because he said that every flyer was worth only two tickets. So they do a small lottery game to find out who will get the other ticket, and go with Steve. Darren got lucky and won, at night Steve and Darren sneak out from their homes to go see the show together. What they didn’t know was that this show will change their lives forever.

I really enjoyed this book, and I would rate it a 10/10. This book has the things I enjoy, a bit of horror, action, and suspense. A lot of good points in the book keep making you think what is going to come up next, or what will happen next. This book, and even the whole series is about vampires, it has a good amount of action.

Lockowitz-Period 3

The summary of the novel “The Lovely Bones” by Alice Sebold is about s girl who was killed by a man named Mr. Harvey. He lives in the same neighborhood as Suzie. He had a daughter and a wife. But his daughter died of a disease and his wife left him. She is the narrator of the story . She was murdered. She also talks about how her family and friends are reacting to her disappearance. But she tells most about her sister and her father. And how they have react especially to Suzie’s death. And the police do eventually find out who killed Suzie. I really liked this book because it was thrilling and a little bit scarey at some points. I would rate this story a 9 out of 10. I would recommend this book to mostly girls and to women because its a great story to read on you’re free time.
