Review by Ryan L

The main conflict of this book is when Steel finds a briefcase that has a picture of a woman tied up. He tries to find the man who has the briefcase. Steel is dealing with some bad feelings because his dad could not come with him and his mom to Washington D.C. for the National Science Challenge. He thinks his dad is having a tough time at work, but really his dad is working with the F.B.I. Steel learns how to use his memory too his full capacity and value his friends and family.

One specific aspect of this book is when Steel is being chased by somebody up a flight of stairs and Steel turned a corner and attacked the victim. He realized it was his dad who he kicked. Steel ran immediately to his father and helped him. Steel noticed then that his dad worked for the F.B.I. Steel and his father go through some tough experiences when they work together. Can there courage be enough to stop the enemy?

Last Shot, by John Feinstien
This book is about a kid named Steven Thomas. He is a kid that loves basketball. Steven had entered a writing contest and he is now in New Orleans. It is the biggest weekend for college sports. He has won a pass to the final four, but he isn’t alone. One of his fellow classmates have won one of the passes to watch the final four and her name is Susan Carol. Susan and Steven were just walking around to see how far there passes can take them, but then they passed by there saw MSU’s point guard. They went to see him but someone was with them and all they heard was “You better lose this game or else.” The point guard was getting blackmailed. They have only two days to find out who was the man/women that is black mailing the MSU star point guard.

I think that this book was an okay book. I think that because it wasn’t my type of book. This book for people that like mysteries, basketball and the final four.

Lockowitz – Period 8

This book is the second book to the Son of the Mob series. The main character again is Vince, and he goes to Hollywood for his university in this book. When he arrives to Hollywood, he meets his roommate, Trey. Trey’s dad is really involved in politics, and Vince wishes that his dad wouldn’t be doing the mafia business, and would be the same as Trey’s dad. What he doesn’t know is that he is bringing the whole mafia from New York with him to Hollywood. With a lot of new problems arriving in Vince’s place, he has to figure out how to solve all of them without harming anyone physically or psychologically.

I would rate this book a 10/10 since this book had a decent amount of action, and suspense. This book i really nice if you like the action books, or the stories about the mafia. I would recommend this book to most of the people who like a lot of suspense. I enjoyed reading this a lot because of all the action and suspense.

Nobody knew where Cass was. The police was immediately on the case. It was so weird that right After David Kirby commit suicide, Cass went missing. No one knew that someone was seeking revenge on Cass for something she didn’t do.

What Happened to Cass McBride was a thrilling story. You do know who kidnaps her and why but the reason why the criminal did it was not why you think. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys not a mystery but a suspenseful story that doesn’t reveal its answers until the very tail end.

Fifteen-year-old Janie Johnson’s life is changes when she sees the picture of a missing girl on the back of a milk carton at lunch. A girl named Jennie Spring, with red hair, “like her own”, was kidnapped twelve years ago, and last seen in a shopping mall. Janie wonders if she could be this face on the milk carton when other questions about her own past begin to arise. Why has she never seen her own birth certificate? Are her parents not really her parents? Janie tries to ignore these thoughts, until she starts having weird memories. She remembers being left alone in a shopping mall, sitting on a chair, when a woman came up to her and offered her ice cream. Could it be true, was she really kidnapped?

I think the book is a incredible book. I would definitely read it again. I suggest this book to people into mysteries. I liked the suspense in the book it always kept you on your toes. The best part of the book was when Janie saw the face on the milk carton.

Mr.Lockowitz Period 8th

The book I read was Leaving Paradise by Simone Elkeles and the main conflict in the book involves two teens named Caleb Becker who spent the last year in juvenile detention center and Maggie Armstrong spent the last year in hospitals and physical therapy and both never expect what happens next in their life’s. If they think that fight is over in their life’s they have another thing coming because their greatest challenge is going to have to see the person that changed/destroyed your life forever. “What happens when he person that hurt you the most becomes the person you trust the most”? The thing that caught my attention is that when something happens to you that changes your life and it’s a person you trust you always think that they did it on purpose, you’ll never trust them again like you did before because your image of them is now very different. In the book that didn’t happen instead something interesting happen and if you want to know what happen read the book.

Argentar – p.7

The main conflict in the book 13 Little Blue Envelopes is that Ginny the main character is facing hard times dealing with what is going to happend next in life. Ginny never knew her Aunt Peg died, until she got the first blue envelope. Ginny has hard times dealing with this because her aunt never told her she was sick. Once she finds out that she is dead Ginny gets really upset and mad at her. Another conflict is that each blue envelope tells Ginny somewhere to go and something to do. Ginny never knows where she is going to end up or what she is going to do. This is a major conflict because Ginny is really worried that she is going to get lost or not do the right thing.

One part of the book that I feel is apealing is when Ginny first starts to find out about her adventure. This was the best part to read because it gave her all the rules of the game and everything she was allowed to bring on the adventure. It was also fun to read because she was so surprised that she finally got to hear from her Aunt Peg. I thought this book was really good and was very interesting to know what was going to happend next.

Lockowitz – Period 8

The book Son of the Mob by Gordon Korman is about a teenager named Vince Luca, and how he tries to stay away from his family business. Vince doesn’t like what his dad does, and always wanted a clean life, but it just doesn’t seem to work for him. There is always something that pulls him back into the business. He has agents that are trying to put his family behind the bars for years, and Vince finds out that he is dating the daughter of one of the agent. This story has suspense that just makes you keep reading to find out what will happen.

I really liked this story, because it has a lot of suspense, action, and just keeps you reading. There is always something waiting to happen on most of the pages, and this is also a bit of a mystery. I would rate this a 10/10

Lockowitz-Period 8

The book, Maximum Ride, is about six mutants who call themselves Iggy, Gasman, Nudge, Fang, Angel and Max. In the beginning, they all live in dog crates at a place called the School. The School is a laboratory that focuses on mainly genetics. When one of the scientists, named Jeb, doesn’t like the way the mutants are being treated he breaks them out of the School and takes them to a place in the mountains. Jeb teaches them how to fight and protect themselves. Just when everything seems fine, Jeb disappears. Two years later the mutants go outside to have a little fun when erasers attack them. Erasers are wolf like mutants made to kill and the School creates them. The erasers catch one of the mutants, Angel, and take her back to the School. Max, the mutant leader, decides that he and the others are going to rescue her. The next day, when they get there, the other mutants end up getting captured also.

The last battle between Max and the super eraser is one of the best parts. It is good because Max is so angry she focuses all of her anger on winning. Everything Jeb taught her about fighting dirty she uses. The battle goes back and fourth many times. Just when you think someone had won, it switches. It also has some of the best detail in the book.

Lockowitz Period 3

The main conflict of this book is about a boy named Santiago who has to fulfill his personal legend. His personal legend is to travel to the pyramids of Egypt to find treasure. He is destined to find the treasure because he had a reoccurring dream about it. He faces problems that cause him to realize more about the soul of the world.

One aspect of the book that makes this appealing is when he communicates through the soul of the world. First he communicates to the desert about turning himself into wind which the desert couldn’t. Then Santiago speaks with the wind which also couldn’t help him and should speak with the sun. Santiago speaks to these about love that makes them very curious. The sun can’t turn him into wind and should speak with the hand that wrote all.
